ProTactile ASL: Classifiers

This workshop offers a glimpse of ProTactile ASL! During this workshop, participants will learn and explore the use of classifiers through ProTactile ASL. Classifiers is such an essential part of ASL storytelling, that help brings the language to life. Come check this workshop out to see how you can bring stories to life for the DeafBlind community as well! This workshop contains of exercises for participants to learn and improve firsthand using classifiers through ProTactile ASL.

Esther Brenowitz

Esther, a Colorado American Sign Language Teacher who was born profoundly Deaf, and later identified as DeafBlind. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Esther received her Bachelor's in Communication Studies with a minor in Educational Drama and Masters in American Sign Language Education with a certification in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infants, Toddlers, and Their Families: Collaborative and Leadership graduate certification program from Gallaudet University in 2014 and 2018, respectively. Esther offers ASL tutor sessions as well as theatric, early intervention, and ProTactile ASL workshops and presentations.
